Plaque psoriasis, or psoriasis vulgaris, is the most common type of psoriasis. Approximately 80% of psoriasis patients are diagnosed with plaque psoriasis. Typically found on the elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back, plaque psoriasis is characterized by inflamed, red lesions that are sometimes covered in dry, white scales.
