Transcendental Meditation

Transcendental meditation was introduced in 1958 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The technique does not involve contemplation or concentration, but instead involves the repetition of a mantra. The technique is taught as a seven-step procedure that consists of lectures, an interview, and instruction session. Studies have shown that transcendental meditation may help reduce hypertension (high blood pressure) .
