Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that may occur with rheumatoid arthritis. It can cause pain, numbness, and tingling in the extremities from swollen joints that either irritate or pinch the nerves. RA is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks the lining of the joints and causes damage.
