Rashes That Resemble Chicken Pox

Aside from chicken pox there are several other diseases which may present itself with similar rashes. One of the most common is shingles or herpes zoster. Unlike chicken pox wherein the distribution of rashes is generalized, the distribution of rashes in shingles follows a dermatomal pattern (a dermatome is an area of the skin supplied by a spinal nerve). Other considerations are contact dermatitis and impetigo.
