Overfocused ADD

Overfocused ADHD is one of the six types of ADHD according to Dr. Daniel Amen. This type of ADHD is closely related to classic and inattentive ADHD. The significant difference is that people with overfocused ADHD cannot break away from a thought or idea. This happens because the cingulate system of the brain is overactive and often locks the person into negative, repetitive, and self destructive behavior.
