Overactive Bladder

Overactive bladder (OAB) is characterized by a sudden, increased urgency to urinate. Often, people with overactive bladder will have urinary incontinence. Although this condition affects more than 17 million men and women of all ages, overactive bladder is more common in people over the age of 75, as well as those with diabetes, depression, or an underlying neurological condition. Other names for overactive bladder are detrusor instability and irritable or spastic bladder.
