Lyrica for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Lyrica (pregabalin) has not been approved in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), though some research has indicated that RA may increase the risk of fibromyalgia, for which Lyrica is approved to treat. Patients with RA commonly experience pain in the joints, while fibromyalgia patients experience pain in both muscles and joints. Both rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia are considered chronic diseases, and their cause is unknown.
