President Richard Nixon, on April 14, 1969, introduced the Occupational Health and Safety Act, this bill will protect the worker's safety and health. The Act went into effect on April 28, 1971, and is being enforced by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. American labor unions celebrate this day as Worker's Memorial Day.
