Heart Palpitations and Exercise
Exercise may be a cause of palpitations. Strenuous exercise can make your heart beat faster causing palpitations in some people. Yet exercise is good for people who have heart palpitations. These exercises should be gentle, like yoga and tai chi. These are also good for relieving stress, another cause of palpitations. Before starting any exercise program, discuss exercise with your health care provider.
- Keeping a diary of what, when, where, and how long your palpitations occurred may help your doctor find the reasons for your palpitations.
- Avoiding stimulants, like caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol may help relieve palpitations.
- Seek immediate help if you experience other symptoms along with your palpitations.
