Gestational Diabetes Symptoms
Gestational diabetes usually does not cause any symptoms. Occasionally, some women do experience symptoms that may include blurred vision, fatigue, increased thirst, increased urination, nausea, vomiting and weight loss despite increased appetite. Many of these symptoms can be brought on by the pregnancy. Due to this, routine testing during pregnancy for gestational diabetes is important.
- In cases where there are symptoms, they are usually mild.
- After delivery, blood glucose level usually returns to normal.
- Testing is usually done between the 24th and 28th weeks.
