Crab and High Cholesterol

Although crab is a bit high in cholesterol, it is important to realize that crab meat is especially low in saturated fat. While a three-ounce serving of crab meat contains about 85 milligrams of cholesterol, it contains only one gram of saturated fat. When eating seafood such as crab, pay attention to portion sizes and note that adding toppings such as butter will increase the level of fat and cholesterol.
