It is interesting to note that although Crestor (rosuvastatin) is prescribed to help lower LDL cholesterol levels, some patients with diabetes have actually seen an increase in their fasting blood sugar levels while taking Crestor. However, studies conducted in United States have shown that patients with type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol are three or four times more likely to die from heart attack or stroke. There is no doubt that lowering your LDL levels and controlling your diabetes may help reduce the risk of developing heart disease.
