Aspirin and Nexium

The most harmful side effect of aspirin is gastrointestinal distress such as ulcers and gastric bleeding. Nexium is effective in decreasing gastric acid secretion and in treating dyspepsia which is also an adverse effect of taking aspirin. Certain studies recommend taking low-dose esomeprazole (Nexium) with aspirin (for blood-clot preventing therapy) to prevent aspirin-induced upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
